10 Christmas Ideas for Mother By: William Vicary

I always find it hard buying for my Mother for Christmas so this year I’ve thought ahead done some research and came up with the best (affordable) presents for Mother this year! I hope this list helps you as it has me:

10 – Hampers
Traditionally hampers were only for food at Christmas, a basket of goodies, along with some meat and a bottle of wine or two. Nowadays however you can get a huge variety of luxury hampers from simply chocolate to a breakfast in bed! Why not treat your Mum to special Christmas Hampers?

9 – Gift Sets
There is a huge variety of gift sets, the more common including; bath sets, drinks sets, chocolate/sweet sets and perfume sets. These are normally a sure thing, and you can’t normally go wrong!

8 – Flowers
Depending on how extravagant your tastes are, flowers can range from £5 to £500 for a bouquet, if your not going to get anything else flowers might be a bit pricey for a gift but a £5 bouquet are a nice addition to chocolates and other smaller presents, and should always make a smile!

7 – Candles
Candles, not so great on there own, but coupled with a bunch of flowers or a nice candle holder can make for a nice present and I feel it shows you’ve put some thought into buying it!

6 – Books
Not the most personal present, but if you have exhausted all the other ideas then this is definitely one worth a mention! A nice mushy love novel or even that cookery book she’s always wanted could be worth a thought.

5 – Photo Frame (With a picture)
A photo frame with a picture of yourself is one of the most personal presents you can get your Mum. If you are running a little low on funds, then a photo frame may be for you coupled with a bunch of flowers you can get something looking quite good for around £10!

4 – Perfume
Not many times you can go wrong with perfume, most women wear it, and it’s a general present that should always get a smile. Sneak into her room when she’s not around and check what perfume she wears and go and buy it, will cost around £10-£20 for the average perfume cheap and easy!

3 – Music
Music is an easy choice, I generally try to lean toward the romance songs rather than the Drum and Bass or hip-hop etc, but that is because I know my mother doesn’t listen to that sort of thing. You should know your mum better than me though so just buy what she listens to.

2 – Jewellery
I don’t know about your Mother, but jewellery would definitely make mine smile! Make sure you check what type of Jewellery your mother wears though before you buy some, getting someone silver when they only wear gold might get a fake smile when they open it!

1 – Holiday
A romantic weekend break for her and her husband, or a relaxing day at the spa will ALWAYS go down well, this is hands down the best present you could buy your Mum. If you have a big enough budget for a holiday, I’d recommend this one for sure!
