How To Make Your Newly Leased Skoda Stay Good As New

Few people would disagree that the one great thing about a newly leased Skoda is the fact that they arrive in peak condition and don't need the attention that second hand models so desperately require. Still, a newly leased Skoda will need some help in staying new, or you could have repairs on your hand. Among leasing firms Skoda is a brand of car that is extremely popular but if it is new then it will need regular and maintenance to make sure that the engine stays at its peak. So what can a driver do to prevent this?

To answer this question, the newly leased Skoda may possibly be able to go further between oil checks but they can come into trouble if problems aren't addressed. So here are some tips to follow.

  1. If you run into any problems, your dealer is your first port of call. For most people it's not a good idea to throw the bonnet open and monkey about the engine, in fact, it could harm your leasing agreement - contact the company immediately; otherwise you may foul up your deposit. So if a major problem develops give them a ring.
  2. Some simple tasks can be done yourself. Oils and fluids will need to be topped up from time to time as they can run low or lose their effectiveness and potentially damage the engine. Check regularly to see which fluids need adding to. To assess what exactly is required to maintain your car, check the manufacturers guide and also take a look at how you yourself drive. When commuting to work you might encounter a lot of slow traffic - this might mean you need to replace fluids more often.
  3. Check your tyre pressure. Your leasing provider will be able to tell you what level your tiles should be inflated to. Check your tyre wall for the correct recommended tyre pressure levels. Inability to correctly perform checks on your tyre pressures can have a detrimental effect on breaking distance and even on the safety of your road handling. All of which could be detrimental to your driving and possibly lethal.

    1. Check the recommended maintenance schedule in your log book - Most manufacturers keep a copy in the glove box. If you can't find a copy, as with your agent as they might have their own plans for when they'd like you to bring your leasing car back in for a check. Make sure you stick to any recommended schedules and don't deviate from them. Ensure you stick to these check-ups as rigorously as you can as you don't want to miss out on any vital check-ups for your lease car.
    2. Don't forget, new cars are still far more resilient than older ones. This does not mean they are free of maintenance concerns though. To avoid costly repairs to your new lease car, ensure that however old or new it is, you don't forget to have it maintained by a professional mechanic. So even if you've agreed to a leasing deal it is recommended that you should still follow the schedule.

If you're responsible with the care you should get more from your new Skoda and will allow you to return it in great condition. You will also be able to enjoy the reliability of knowing that it won't cut out on the on your way to an important meeting. Just remember, it is better to be safe than sorry.
