For many years, much emphasis has been to the role of Calcium rather than Vitamin D osteoporosis prevention. What most people miss is the fact that Calcium requires Vitamin D to be fully absorbed by the body. However, there are some challenges involved when it comes to getting the right amount of Vitamin D as caused by some situations.

Case in point, residents of colder countries are more vulnerable to Vitamin D deficiency since they may not get sunlight during winter. Thus, higher supplementation of Vitamin D osteoporosis prevention is required for people there. In fact, there was a comparative study made between Asian women and European women regarding calcium intake some years ago. The research showed that even if asians consume less milk than europeans, they have better calcium absorption.

The explanation behind these is the fact that Asians bask more in sunlight than European women. In fact, Canadian health authorities impose to their citizens a higher amount of  Vitamin D osteoporosis prevention because their location and climate restricts sunlight exposure.

Aside from not having enough exposure to sunlight, drinking carbonated drinks can also prevent proper absorption of Calcium in the body. Unhealthy habits such as drinking too much alcohol also interferes with the body's ability to absorb calcium. Even consuming caffeine rich beverages can definitely inhibit absorption of calcium. Hence, avoiding such food types can help the body get more calcium.

A good way to enhance the body's ability to absorb calcium is to get exposed to sunlight for even a few minutes a day. It his highly suggested to get some early morning sunlight to avoid harmful UV rays. Also, eat egg yolks and fatty fish, which are rich sources of Vitamin D.

Keep in mind that Vitamin D osteoporosis prevention can de done early using the aforementioned suggestions.
