Purchasing overpriced milk tea is simply not being practical especially if one craves for a milk tea fix on a daily basis. With that said, making your own milk tea is a smart way to satisfy the craving and it is more affordable.

Old Fashioned Milk Tea

Old fashioned milk tea is a hot drink preferred by older individuals. It offers some form of relaxation upon sipping and until the last drop is taken. This is very easy to make. The fundamental ingredients used to make old fashioned milk tea recipe are:

  • Tea
  • Sugar or any form of sweeteners
  • Milk: non fat milk, condensed milk or skim milk

Procedure:

  1. Boil at least half to one liter of water. Once the water is boiled, put the tealeaves and let it stay for about 2-3 minutes. After 2-3 minutes, reduce the heat and allow the tea to stay for the duration of 20-30 minutes. The longer the tealeaves stay, the greater the concentration it gives.
  2. Remove the tealeaves by straining them thoroughly; make sure to remove all the tealeaves to prevent from drinking residue from the tea.
  3. Pour the hot tea into a cup. Add condensed milk, skim milk or non fat milk and stir properly to mix the tea and the milk.
  4. Then, add and stir sugar or any form of sweetener you prefer.
  5. To heighten the flavor of the milk tea, you can put cinnamon or any additional drink flavoring you like.

Honey Milk Tea

The combo of honey, milk and tea is one of the easiest recipes to make from milk tea. The main ingredients of this recipe are of course honey, milk and tea.

  1. Pour boiled water into a cup.
  2. Dip tea bag into the cup for about 2-3 minutes or depending on how long you prefer the tea bag to be soaked.
  3. Remove the tea bag and add the preferred type of milk.
  4. Add honey syrup and stir it thoroughly.
  5. Then, it is ready to be served.

Home Made Bubble Milk Tea

One of the famous thirst quenching beverages nowadays is bubble milk tea. It is a favorite in most tea and coffee shops. Tea lovers are seen sipping this amazing drink on both warm and cool weather. The best thing about this type of milk tea is that it can be done at home.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup brewed tea. Either jasmine, red, green, black or any type of tea
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk (almond, soy, or rice milk may be used)
  • 1/4 cup cooked Tapioca Pearls

Procedure:

In a cocktail shaker or blender, shake or blend the combined ingredients of milk, tea and sugar syrup until it becomes creamy. Put the cooked tapioca pearls in a tall drinking glass and pour the shake or blended mixture over the pearls. Make sure you put fat straw for the pearls to be sipped.
