In the modern world, nothing is cooler than an i pad. Apple's CEO steve jobs introduced it on 27 january, 2010 at an apple press conference in san francisco. It falls between the category of laptop computers and smart phones. It has an operating system iOS 5.0.1. It runs the same operating system but have additional applications than i phone. It can only run programs which are approved by apple.

The first i pad was released in april 2010 and within 80 days 3 million of the devices were sold out.  At the end of 2010, they sold 14.8 million devices worldwide which represents tablet pc sale of 75 percent. The expectation is on 83 percent till 2011. Till march 2011, more than 15 million devices had been sold out. 

To access the internet and local area network, it uses a Wi-Fi connection. Some models can even connect to HSPA or EV-DO data networks with the help of 3G wireless network interface. For importing videos and photos through SD memory cards and USB, you should use apple camera connection kit accessory. It has applications such as google maps which provide information about locations.

It is mastered by a multitouch display. The i pad touchscreen has a liquid crystal display with scratch and fingerprint resistant glass. To express the software 10 inches screen size was the minimum because they fell 7 inch would be too small. It do not possess a camera which is the disadvantage of this device but ipad 2 has both front and rear camera. It has two internal mono speakers. For video recording it contains a microphone. Wireless keyboards and headphones are used with the help of in built interface bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

It uses an internal rechargeable LIPO battery. It is charged using 10W power adapter with current of 2 amperes. The  i pad provide battery backup up to 140 hours of audio and 10 hours of video. It has internal storage capacity of 16, 32 or 64 GB with no option to extend storage. To transfer photos and videos, they use camera connection kit. You can also watch movies on this device. It has a micro sim slot and can be used with GSM carrier. In the United States some devices are currently in use with CDMA support.

It is assembled by foxconn which has their largest plant in china. It can run all the applications of the i phone. Some of the main applications are Mail, Video, Youtube, ipod, App Store, Maps, Calendar, Notes, Mobile Safari, Spotlight Search. The xcode development suite uses iOS so it is not supported. Although it is not designed to replace cell phones, you can make calls using VOIP application.
