Detox diet refers to a natural diet taken in order to give the body the proper conditions and time to heal and rebuild. The juice based detox diet helps in getting rid of harmful substances in the body while introducing the right nutrients for the healing process in the body. A wide variety of fruits and vegetables can be used to prepare the juice detox diet. These include the apples, grapes, pineapples, grapefruit, plums, cherries, melons, apricots and limes. One must be careful when preparing the juice detox diet. Ensure that only fresh organic fruits and vegetables are used since the processed juices are made from fruits that have been rejected and are bad quality and are sometimes infested with mold and residue of pesticides. If the juice taken as juice detox diet is the processed juice, ensure that it has been pasteurized.

Tip: If you have urinary tract infections, or other bladder issues, consider adding cranberries to your list of fruits with which to juice. Once you feel problems starting, begin to add them to your juice.

The juice detox diet can be made by mixing two or more fruits together. Different types of vegetables can also be mixed to make the juice. Depending on one’s preference, a vegetable and fruit can be mixed to make the juice. When mixing the fruits and vegetables realize that, some combinations are not likely to make a sweet tasting juice. A juice detox diet comprising of carrots and apples is likely to be very sweet since apples sweeten any vegetable juice. There are no limitations as to the variety of fruit and vegetable juice detox diet one can make depending on their creativity.

Tip: You can make juicing fun by getting the entire family involved in the process. Children can do things like wash the vegetables while the adults take care of any chopping and cutting.

Where the fruits, vegetables, or both make a very rich taste that is highly flavored, the juice can be diluted by adding some water. Since the oxidization of the fruit diet takes place in about 12 hours, the juice should be prepared in small amounts since storing them in a freezer will lead to loss of nutrients.

A juicer or blend will come in handy in the preparation of the juice detox diet. A recipe book for the different types of fruit and vegetable combinations will also help in the preparation of the juices. The recipe booklets however do not restrict you to the combinations therein. Some of the popular detox juice recipes include the celery-carrot drink, pineapple-carrot, vegetable green drink and melon cocktail.
