Knowhow-Now Article

If you’re anything like me, you might not give a lot of thought to the sources you use to access audio news content. Both professionally and personally, it’s important that I be plugged into reliable news sources like BBC Mundo, etc.

The established media works well enough for me most of the time, but like a lot of people, I’m frequently rushed can’t always listen to content when and where I’d like. To that end, some new media sources have emerged that combine serious news content and opinion with flexible, cost effective ways to access it. News in Slow Spanish (www.newsinslowspanish.com) is a great example, and it’s grown on me for several reasons.

First off, News in Slow Spanish has its own unique approach that isn’t based on copying entrenched media sources like BBC Mundo. News in Slow Spanish can’t compete with BBC Mundo in terms of coverage, doesn’t try to, and doesn’t make any pretense about it. When it comes to the quality and reliability of news content and discussion, however, I’ve found the two to be very comparable.

With BBC Mundo, I get my information through a reliable and largely familiar experience. This works well enough most of the time depending on my location, the amount of time I have and whether I’m going to encounter any charges. Life’s not always predictable, though, and it can be frustrating when factors beyond our control (flight attendant, noise, phone call, etc.) force us to pull the plug on a live news feed.

This is just one of the reasons I’ve grown more dependent on sources like News in Slow Spanish. I get fresh, diverse insight along with the high journalistic standards I’ve come to expect at BBC Mundo and similar sources. Most importantly, though, News in Slow Spanish gives me flexibility and control.

NSS provides ALL of its news and discussion audios at no charge, so it’s reassuring to know that I won’t be thinking about what it’s going to cost me. News in Slow Spanish also gives me the option to download audio flashcards that I can listen to on the plane, in the cab – when and where I choose.

News in Slow Spanish enables me to access high quality audio news content at no charge, and it’s very easy to use. They continue to evolve a great, nimble solution that fills gaps for me with sources like BBC Mundo, and it’s easy to see why News in Slow Spanish is expanding their subscriber base so rapidly.
