If you have ever been camping with children you know that one of the most difficult things is figuring out what they are going to eat. Kids by nature are finicky eaters and when you put them out in the wild coming up with kids camping recipes can be a chore. Well luckily I have been camping numerous times and I found several go to kids camping recipes that are easy to make and always seem to satisfy.
2 Easy Kids Camping Recipes They Are Sure To love
The first of the kids camping recipes to look at is campfire pizza. All the ingredients are easy to get and the pizza is easy to make. You can modify this recipe to whatever you kids personal tastes are making it an easy go to recipe for even the most unpredictable of eaters. The ingredients are: one package large pita bread, one can of pizza sauce or primavera spaghetti sauce, three slices of salami, two slices of bacon, and one package of mozzarella cheese. You can also bring mushrooms, peppers, onions zucchini, pepperoni or whatever toppings you kids may want. Spread the sauce on the pita, add the ingredients then place on foil over the campfire grill. Make sure the flame is not too hot and cook until the cheese is melted or the bacon is cooked through. You can also mix this up even more and use BBQ sauce instead of pizza sauce with cheddar cheese and precooked chicken.
The second of my three kids camping recipes is campfire biscuits. This recipe is incredibly easy and again works well for just about all kids. All you need is one can Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits, or something like that, 2 tablespoons of melted butter and either sugar and cinnamon or garlic depending on whether you want to do a sweet or savory biscuit. The next thing you will need is a pan iron. Take the biscuits, cut them in half and shape them into balls. For plain biscuits just place them on the buttered pan. If you are doing the cinnamon biscuits, butter them then roll them in cinnamon and sugar. For garlic do the same thing but with both melted butter and garlic. Simple, easy and delicious.
There you have it, two super easy kids camping recipes that are sure to please. There are many other things you can try if you are feeling adventurous and I suggest using as many pre-made or pre-baked things from the store as you can find. Mixes and such work very well in kids camping recipes.
