Thyroid hair loss is a scientific name for hair loss that is caused by imbalance of hormones secreted by the thyroid glands. There are a number of reasons that cause this imbalance, mainly lifestyles of people and unhealthy diet. Many a times an imbalance in diet can also cause this type of thyroid hair loss in humans.

Research conducted on various hormones and their effects of hair loss has clearly suggested that the secretion of various glands in the body can cause acute hair loss and different degrees of mental retardation. Thyroid hair loss can be cured by various vitamin and hormone supplements and steroids that stimulate the thyroid gland to secrete more thyroxin and thereby increase the keratin content in the body.

hair loss can be a serious issue

The secretions of the thyroid gland because of which thyroid hair loss occurs is mainly thyroxin and calcitonine these secretions are active in the body, mainly in the growth stage of a human being and are secreted for basic mental and physical growth and development, lack of these hormones can cause imbalance and several growth related issues in infants and growing kids, sometimes also seen in adults. There are a few people who replenish these missing hormones in forms of chemical medicines and thus help cure thyroid hair loss.

The keratin in the hair is not so strong and that causes the hair to become frizzy dry and eventually lead to thyroid hair loss. There are many people who try to cure this imbalance by using topical treatments but these are majorly inactive and not proper for his kind of thyroid hair loss, these treatments are ineffective and make the entire hair loss process more complicated, simply due to lack of knowledge and thus they tend to lose a lot of money and time but see no desirable results. The keratin content of the body needs to be maintained for which artificial stimulants can also be used with prescription from a dermatologist.

The thyroxin is responsible for most of the keratin growth in the body, women have high levels of thyroxin due to long hair and nails and lack of these can cause thyroid hair loss. In this condition a lot of hair breaks off in short durations of time simply because of this deficiency. Thyroid hair loss is no serious medical condition but can be considered as a moderately important deficiency syndrome as people tend to confuse and complicate it with other forms of hair loss.

Thyroid hair loss can be cured by various vitamin and hormone supplements and steroids that stimulate the thyroid gland to secrete more thyroxin and thereby increase the keratin content in the body.
