Whenever people attempt to do something for the first time, they usually encounter some difficulty. Anxiety, disorientation, and even panic can arise when people try something they have not experienced yet. People who are new to the concept of astral projection may feel all these. But, as with anything else in life, if proper precautions are taken, there is little to worry about.
Individuals experimenting with astral projection may have had some disturbing experiences while trying to perform the act. These experiences can be quite frightening. Nevertheless, although fear, confusion, and disorientation might burden one’s objective, a person should try t overcome all these astral projection dangers in order to succeed.
Disorientation is one of the most common astral projection dangers that occur during, or after, the process. It can take the form of a bewildered and freaky experience, which may prevent one from ever trying the experience again. A statement of intent is extremely important because it allows a person to establish his or her intentions clearly while exploring such terrain. It also allows an individual to align his or her psychological and spiritual will with the experience.
To avoid such potential danger, one can have a mantra repeated while meditating during the initial stages of the process. It can take the form of a chant, a drawing, a symbol, or just about anything that expresses one’s will with clarity. It has to be straightforward, as it will serve as a roadmap for the experience. If you find yourself confused or disorientated, simply go back to your statement of intent, and the symbols, codes, and images that give you strength.
Yet another one of the most feared dangers of astral projection is death. Many people ask, is it possible to die while one is out of his body? According to some experts, death is possible during astral projection. However, remember that it is not being separated from the body that causes death, but only when the so-called “silver cord” is cut.
The silver cord is believed to be an energy cord that links the physical body to the astral body (soul or spirit). For others, however, this cord is only a metaphor. But then again, many people who have had an out-of-body experience (OBE) claim to have seen it, glimmering like silver tinsel. Some believe that when this cord is severed, physical death can ensue. They say that when this cord is cut, it becomes impossible for the astral body to return to the physical body; hence, resulting in death.
The silver cord is such an important part of an individual’s connection to the physical body and is very strong and durable. It’s not something that can be easily cut. This cord can stretch quite a distance and does not get torn or cut just like that. However, masters of occult practices caution people about learning astral projection. As with any new venture, everything is about protection. Try to protect your physical body, cord, and astral self during the whole experience as much as possible.
To avoid death, as well as being possessed by a spirit, make use of a white light or golden light during the process. Call upon your guides or angels for protection and keep your vibration high (avoid fear if you can help it) while you travel. If you’re going to travel on the astral plane, make sure that you’re free from negative thoughts and feelings. Remember, there are a number of astral projection dangers that may ruin the whole experience. Nevertheless, once you learn how to relax and meditate sufficiently during the initial stage of astral travel, these dangers can be easily overcome.
