All About Astral Projection Stories

Astral projection is anything but a new phenomenon. This practice and ability has been around for over 5,000 years and has been commonly accepted by various ancient civilizations for countless centuries. The ancient Egyptians are believed to be the first practitioners of astral projection. But then again, there were cave drawings found in Africa depicting that several cultures were able to leave their physical body and travel to different dimensions.

There are many astral projection stories that have to do with many ancient civilizations. In fact, there are even references in the Bible too. From ancient Egypt, India, China, Japan, and many others, they have tales that speak of astral travel. For the majority of cases, these are not tales about how someone came to experience astral projection. Instead, they are stories about how to make use of astral projection to fulfill certain purposes. For example, some individuals use astral projection to look for help on how to cure a person in poor health.

Astral projection, or out-of-body experience as it is also called, has received quite a bit of attention in recent years due to the several astral projection stories told by astral travelers from all across the world. Although the experiences vary greatly from each other, there are nearly always some similarities present in each tale. The truth is what actually transpires during astral projection is the same. However, some stories may involve an encounter that happened in a different place, time, or dimension.

Astral projection stories usually start with an individual feeling as light as a feather, and then observing his or her physical body in deep sleep. Many astral travelers claim that they are able to take off and fly while navigating the different astral planes. For those who are new to the whole concept of astral travel, observing the body from a distance causes panic. As a result, the mind regains total consciousness, erasing all memories of the experience while considering the travel a dream.

Stories about astral travel usually revolve around one thing: seeing oneself by oneself. Astral projections are referred to as astral for a reason. By definition, an astral body is an ethereal element of high degree of vibration that is the counterpart of the physical body. The astral body and physical body are viewed as two separate entities being tied to each other by a “silver cord” that serves as a guide to wherever the other may be. Individuals who tell stories of astral travel would remember seeing themselves from the point of view of another person, only to realize later on that the other person is actually a projection of himself or herself.

Many astral projection stories also involve encounters with loved ones who have already passed away. Many astral travelers tell about how they were able to meet and communicate with family and friends who have long departed the physical world. Please note, however, that those people that one interacts with during astral travel are also astral projections and therefore should not be wrongly recognized as real, living individuals.

Today, modern accounts on astral travel originate from hospitals. This makes sense in a way because of the use of anesthesia in surgery patients. According to medical experts, when the brain is in a state of activity, this is the opportune state for out-of-body experiences to happen. This is so because the brain is operating at a slow state - not too slow to be actually asleep, but not enough to be active either. This is also known as the daydreaming state.

Many people are fascinated about astral projection stories that tell about how one can possibly travel an out-of-this-world dimension without regard for space and time. Of the many mysterious phenomena that one can experience, astral projection is probably one of the most interesting. Whether or not to believe in astral stories is an individual decision. One thing is for sure, though, there are thousands of stories that prove that out-of-body experiences can really do happen to anyone.
