It is true that all types of offices, whether these are home offices or work offices, contain many clutters and in turn, these contain many germs. Offices contain so much clutter primarily because of old papers, mails, left over foods and crumbs, and many other personal things. Offices are spaces where people converge to do much of their work; hence, there is importance in maintaining its cleanliness and order so that it is going to stay efficient, safe, and healthy for the people there. In order to have a cleaner and more organized office, perhaps cleaning and de-cluttering can be best done with some help form an office cleaning checklist.
The purpose of having a checklist is for cleaners forget the tasks they need to finish in cleaning their office. Consequently, creating a checklist isn’t really that hard; here is an example of an office cleaning checklist:
1. Start with a cleared space. Remove all unnecessary files and furniture in the office. In order for office owners to be able to save time and do this neatly, they can start by taking a trash bag and a box; the trash bag can be labeled “trash” and the box can be labeled “files to keep.”
2. More clutter means lesser space. Hence, if perhaps you have too much ”to keep” files, try to find another place of storage for them. As for the papers which no longer have any use, send it the to the paper shredder.
3. Try to adopt the environment-friendly approaches. In the third step, put the shredded papers in a bag labeled “recyclable.”
4. Throw non-paper things outside. Remember to help the environment, but also remember that not everything can be recycled. Throw all the things, which can no longer be of use such as broken telephones and other machines.
5. Store properly whenever applicable. Having unnecessary things can never be avoided. For items that are hard to throw, place it in a storage box. For individuals who have a hard time disposing such things, sell them in garage sales donate them to charity close to your heart. This is actually a good idea, instead of throwing things away.
6. Dust and clean the office. This is perhaps the most important step in the office cleaning checklist. This is true because dust contains so many particles, which cannot be seen by the naked eye, but can actually be dangerous to the health. With the use of a dust cloth, wipe surfaces and other areas of the room as sometimes, feather dusters leave some dust. Include wiping the walls so that germs are not going to spread and mix with the air. Vacuum the floors, curtains, and furniture with a vacuum.
7. Clean too the widows and portals of the office. After cleaning the furniture, floors, and curtains, it’s time to move on to the windows. Office owners need to know that in cleaning the windows, the outer part must as well be included for a cleaner look. Make sure to clean it with a soap solution and never let it air dry as water spots may show. Wipe it with a dry cloth or use a squeegee for better results.
8. Give the bathroom a good wash until it gleams. Aside from the office itself, while you’re at it, clean the bathroom as well. Make sure to give the bathroom a good clean. Clean the walls, floors and all fixtures.
Indeed, office cleaning can be such a daunting task especially if people do not have any clue as what to do. Nevertheless, with help from an office cleaning checklist, office cleaning can be much easier.
