Each person has natural or influenced inclinations or interests. Some people go surfing; some people do professional sports, some like to go shopping. Another type of interest have stirred human interest since the old days – the paranormal and supernatural forces. Human beings’ own mortality frightens some people. Believing that there is life after death makes people feel better and give them a sense of purpose. In fact, many people try to be a good person in the belief that there is judgment in the afterlife. There is always doubt arising even to the most confident and intellectual people due to the paranormal possibilities. Watching horror films, sci-fi films, and even ghost hunting movies give excitement to human beings because being alone in this planet and knowing that no harm can come along the way is like living a life with utter boredom.
Research shows that the number one fear that most people have is fear for death and the unknown. What comes in the afterlife is something that people do not know about. Human being, being intellectual creatures, wants to know and plan everything. Nevertheless, since no one has said anything about what goes beyond that mystic cloud then people start to find ways on knowing for themselves.
However, although there is a lot of unexplainable phenomenon going around, the question on a scientific mind like that of a psychologist is, “Do people influence the so-called evidence retrieved after a ghost hunting rendezvous?” Meaning, did the evidences appear because of their intense desire to see or hear them? The minds of all human beings are much more powerful than one can ever imagine it could be. Does wanting to hear something make a person really hear something or does the desire to see something not in the form of a human person makes a person really see an entity?
There are also some known cases when obsession for ghost hunting made ghost hunters stage their evidences to encourage and influence other people in believing in their craft. Sometimes, the obsession can play havoc to one’s sensibilities to that extent. To this day, the issue about ghosts and other paranormal happenings remain to be beyond human understanding because it is something that cannot be studied using scientific methods. One may reasonably surmise, therefore, that the human fascination to the unexplained will never go away.
