See How I Increase credit score by implementing the following approach to improving my credit worthiness scores :

I got copies of my credit reports including scores from the 3 major credit reporting agencies, Experian, Transunion and Equifax.

I review these reports in detail noting any blunders in my personal profile such as, wrong or multiple social security numbers, misspelled name or multiple adaptations of my name, wrong address and former places of employment. I also review for wrong information related to credit accounts, whether overdue payment notations were correct, was the account mine, was I an allowed user or first owner of the account, is the account open or closed. I wanted to find all the gaffes and misstatements in my credit history that would impact on my credit worthiness scores.

I wrote dispute letters providing correct information concerning my personal profile and I challenged the incorrect information related to my credit accounts requesting the individual agencies to verify the data. I sent the letters licensed return bill.

If I didn't hear from the reporting agencies within thirty days, I followed up with a second letter requesting a status update of the corroboration process. I also included a copy of my original dispute letter and a copy of the signed return invoice card to be certain that the agencies recognise this letter was not my first request and therefore the thirty days reply time by them required under Fed law had been violated.

If after reinvestigating my complaint and the dispute wasn't decided to my satisfaction, I requested that my statement of the dispute be included in my credit file and any future reports.

I followed this approach diligently with a little patience as well as, changing my spending and bill paying habits to put me on the path to increasing my credit score, spotting that there aren't any fast fixes to correcting my credit.
