Is it really necessary to be using a script when you prospect? What do you think? Well, to be honest, this is a pretty important piece of the puzzle to growing a successful, long-term marketing business. What do I mean?

Well, first of all, I think that a lot of people resist using scripts.  I know that was true in my case!  I come from a long background of giving talks and discourses. Also, for years I had taken classes on public speaking,  And in these classes, they would always discourage the use of reading things word-for-word when your talking to people, even if it’s on the phone.  However, one of my greatest mentors highly recommended using scripts, and he helped to open my eyes to the benefits of doing so. Here’s what I mean:

His way of thinking is this:   Every part of your marketing funnel should be predictable and replicable.  He believes you should know exactly what words that makes your prospective client want to stop what they’re doing and buy.  Also, he believes that since you know that information, you shouldn’t have to make your downline try to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. But, that you should pass on this knowledge of what words work, so they can have as much success as you.  So, having a script would accomplish all of that and take away the guess-work for you and your downline.

Do you agree with that?  Well, so do I. Doesn’t that just make sense? And doesn’t it coincide with the basic principles of true marketing?  When, it comes to Marketing, nothing should be left to chance.  That will allow you to have consistent results.

This is a much superior way of marketing than just “winging it”. Wouldn’t you agree?  Think about this  (those who’ve been around sales for a while know exactly what I mean with this example) :  Have you ever seen the case where you or a maybe a big-wig in your company kills it in sales. He can sell like there’s no tomorrow. People just seem to melt when he talks to them.   He seems to get so many sales, he can barely handle all the business.  He’s just that good!  But, what about his downline?

His downline might not get anywhere near the amount of sales as he does.  And as a result, he can’t build his business like wants to or should.  He just can’t seem to get to the next level in his business because his downline just isn’t producing enough.  What can he do to remedy the situation?

He needs to see the importance of using a script, and passing that script to his downline to use.  In that way, EVERYBODY will know what words to say and when – not just him! In this way EVERYBODY  can get great results, all without having a lot of sales experience and natural ability.

“But, I don’t even know what I say to get such great results! I just feel the situation”, he might say.  Well, if that’s the case, he should record himself while prospecting, and then write it out.  That’s it. Not that difficult. And it will give him AND HIS DOWNLINE greater results as well.  ( And did you know that same process can be applied for closing as well?)

So, is scripting really necessary? It is if you want to explode your downline.  Just remember:  everyone doesn’t have the same skills and abilities. But, if you give everyone in your downline a process that has been proven to work ( a script), it will give everyone – not just you- consistent results.  And EVERYONE will be happy – your downline, because they will be making consistent money. And you – because you will finally be able to move on to the next level, and the next level and the next in your company, because you AND YOUR DOWNLINE will be producing great, predictable, consistent results!
