Manglik / Kuja Dosha in Horoscopes Mars,

The cosmic planet also known as Mangal in Hindu mythology is said to have been born when 3 drops of sweat fell from the brows of Lord Shiva on Earth. He is also referred to as Ares aka The God of War in Greek Mythology and is known for his innate ability in fighting, combat, defense and attack.  He is the Commander in Chief in the royal planetary cabinet and usually has a soldier like mentality and aptitude. Mangal is also celibate in nature and thus is very famous in causing a particular kind of dosha or flaw in natal charts of certain people, referred to as Manglik Dosha. People with this dosha have always experienced troubles in their marital life, where marriages have either ended in divorce or with the death of either partner.  No wonder, Indian women from ages have been wearing red coral gemstones, which are direct manifestation of the cosmic power of mangal in their mangal sutras to protect them from the harmful effects of Mangal and its Manglik Dosha. You can purchase High quality certified and natural Vedic Italian Red Coral Stone from our online store.

The ancient classical jyotisa magnum opus Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra mentions Manglik Dosha in quite detail and also gives remedies to thwart off such dosha and gain the benevolence of Mangal or Mars.  In a Vedic horoscope, Manglik dosha or Kuja dosha is formed when mars is placed in either ascendant (First House), House of happiness or mental peace (Fourth house),House of marriage (Seventh House), House of longevity (Eighth House) or house of expenditure (Twelfth House).  In all these positions Mars acquires special attributes to give problems related to marital life. Manglik dosha occurs from Ascendant or Lagna, Lunar Ascendant or Chandra Lagna and from Venus, with the intensity of dosha increasing from Lagna to Venus.

People having such manglik dosha from any of all 3 of such references have either conscious or subconscious traits to end up remaining single, since the planet Mars itself has traits of Celibate. No wonder , Hanumanji , an avatar of Lord Shiva , who was a devout celibate for as long as history exists is worshipped on Tuesdays or Mangalwar , the day of Mars.  Mangala Dosha effects the married life of a person in many ways – it creates delays, cheating, hurdles and obstacles in getting married. After marriage, there is physical, mental or financial hardship for one of the partners or both the partners. It causes mutual disputes, allegations and counters allegations and may even lead to disintegration of marriage. If the Dosha is pronounced, one of the partners may remain ill or there may be untimely death of either one or both the partners.

Cancellation of Manglik Dosha:-

There are certain factors which when met in a natal horoscope can completely nullify the effects of Manglik Dosha on its own and no remedial measures are necessary.  In such cases, where such conditions for nullification exist, Mangalik Dosha though present in the chart can be safely ignored.

· If Mars is in 4th house in own sign, i.e., Aries or Scorpio.

· If Mars is in 7th house in exaltation or debilitation, i.e., Capricorn or Cancer.

· If Mars is in 8th house in any of the signs of Jupiter, i.e., Sagittarius or Pisces.

· If Mars is in 12th house in any of the signs of Venus, i.e., Taurus or Libra.

· If Mars is in any house in Aquarius or Leo.

· IF Jupiter or Venus are in the Ascendant or If Jupiter aspects 7th House.

· IF Mars is Conjunct Moon or Jupiter.

If both partners have manglik dosha, then this dosha gets cancelled on its own and the couple leads a happy married life, just as two negatives, when added together make one positive.

Remedies of Mangalik Dosha:-

There may be certain natal horoscopes where such cancellation factors may not exists and thus, remedial measures for the appeasement of Mars become outmost necessary.  One should fast on Tuesdays (sunrise to next day sunrise). During the day, consume liquids without salt like tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice and curd. In the evening, draw a triangle with red kumkum (roli) on a plate and worship with Panchopachara [red sandalwood, red flowers, incense (dhoop), lighted lamp and food consecrated to a deity]. Thereafter, only before sunset, one may consume wheat bread, ghee and jaggery (unrefined cane sugar).  If the Mangalik Dosha is pronounced, then the Mangala Chandika Strotra should be recited daily for 21 times for 108 consecutive days. In the morning hours, one should sit facing the eastern direction, light a five stroked lamp and worship one’s deity (Ishta) and the planet Mars (Mangala) with Panchopachara.  One may also wear a Mangal Kavach or Locket Yantras for mars which gives protection from the inauspicious cosmic radiation.
