Now users of MySpace can import data to their "My Profile" from the social network Facebook. MySpace users can share "interests" and information about favorite music and movies into their MySPace accounts. This decision was made as a result of agreements reached between the managements of the two sites.
This new synchronization with Facebook will allow MySpace users to get on their pages updates about events of interest in the entertainment world. This will be the main function of the site. In addition, it is planned that "Like" buttons from Facebook will appear on MySpace.
The managers of both sites emphasize that the transaction has no financial component.
According to some analysts, this step should be regarded as official recognition of Facebook's market leadership leader in social networks over MySpace, which chose deepening of integration with former rival in the hope of keeping about 120 million of its users by enabling them the ability to share their information across both sites.
MySpace, appeared at the same time as Facebook and at one time had two times as many users, but now Facebook is the largest social network in the world, ahead of MySpace with around four times as many users. Facebook now claims to have approximately 500 million registered accounts.
