Many years ago, Harvard university found that three out of a hundred graduate students had their goals clearly written down. After a couple of years later, they decided to do a follow up study on the students that had graduated within the university. A very interesting results were obtained. They found that the three percent who had their goals clearly and succinctly written down had accomplished more financially and in other areas of their lives than the remaining ninety seven percent. The three percent were those who had written down their goals. It is said that when you write your goals down on paper, you maximize the chances of obtaining them by ninety percent.
Your goals are so important. Many people journey through life without a clearly defined direction of their lives. Without a clearly defined direction, you cannot stay focused. Everything that comes across your way becomes a destruction. When you have your goals and a clearly defined direction, destruction can be overcomed. I cannot imagine life without possessing a picture of the future. A picture of the future is so vital. It is this picture that helps you to overcome the discouragement and disappointments of life. Without this picture, you do not have a purpose. Without a purpose, you will always live aimlessly.
I cannot stress enough the significance of developing a favorable and desired picture of the future. Now, a picture of the future alone is not enough. It is critical that you set specific goals. Your goals highlights the strategy you will embark on to fulfill your desired future. So many people live life with no goals. Imagine a football match with no goals. Imagine a flight that has left the airport without a destination in mind. This is chaos. You might be laughing but this is a clear representation of the vast majority of individuals out there. That is why you have so many copycats. People living under other people's shadows. When will you become yourself. You were born original. You cannot afford to die a copy. I hope you have been challenged to rise above the mud of mediocrity and live a life according to design.
