Like many people, moving to the big city has offered the most amazing array of great restaurants, fine dining and aromatic cocktail bars the capital has to offer at any time of the day or night. All over the world, annual food festivals are held in church halls, parks, cafes or simply on the street, in celebration of the different kinds of eats various cultures have to offer. Here are just some of the UK's best food festivals!

The World Street Food Festival is in the middle of East London and boasts an array of cuisines from Authentic American BBQ stalls, to the world famous husband and wife team Jill and Keith (Creperie Nicholas) who attended a ‘crepier school’ in Brittany and sell delicious crepes and coffees from their Citroen H Van on the street. If you love paella, this is one of the best food festivals in the world for authentic Spanish dishes made in huge vats by Valencia team Jamon Jamon.

Brighton's Vegfest, takes places every year, celebrating a whole host of vegetarian and vegan inspired food stuffs, chefs, products and alternatives for all you veggies seeking a little creativity in your day to day meals. The event is completely free to the public, and includes competitions such as Ready Steady Chef, live music from many of Brighton's finest local talent, and product presentations from some of the UK's best loved vegan brands. Visitors can also sign up for cookery classes, where they can learn how to prepare food from other cultural dishes, even the kids can join in!

Held in Ludlow Food Festival is held at Ludlow Castle in Shropshire every year. Celebrating fresh, local produce and diverse independent producers throughout Ludlow and the Marches from its home brewers to rare breeds of meat, nurtured by local farmers. One of the Food Festival's founder, Graeme Kidd, sadly passed away in 2009, and with the help of the organisers, the Graeme Kidd bursary for people aged 16- 25 began. This unique opportunity, was created to encourage young people into the local food and drink industry. Here , they will learn how to develop their skills and experience in order to contribute to the food industry.

The Manchester Food and Drink Festival has been running for over 15 years, and in this time, has achieved nation acclaim for its modern concept and broad tourist interest. Many restaurants in Manchester take part, offering samples of their own menus and giving them a chance to showcase their work. The festival can often take up most of Manchester's city centre in its duration, with tourists coming from all over the world to sample their famous street food and lively atmosphere.

Last but not least, Edinburgh's very own Taste Festival takes in over 30,000 visitors a year over the weekend. Hosted in various locations like the Meadows in July, the event is an excuse for us to show off our favourite Michelin star chefs and eateries around the capital. In but it’s 6th year, Taste has seen celebrity chefs from around the world like Gordon Ramsey and Martin Wishart, who has recently opened his own restaurant in Edinburgh’s shore area.
