Filipinos are very famous in many different aspects. In entertainment, we have Lea Salonga who is best know as “Kim” in Miss Saigon and Charisse Pempengco who have just been included in the International series “glee”. Manny Pacquaio have not only impressed his fellow kababayan but also all the people around the world. In fact, he was not contented to all the fame and money in the world because he ran as congressman in Saranggani Province and got the position and he is now ready to help the public; or is he?

Since history began, Filipinos have loved Art. Indeed they expressed it through tattoos at that time. That is why we have lots of Filipino painters and artist. In fact, we had Fernando Amorsolo then and Jun Impas now; but still his works have been a history and a legend.

Filipinos are famous for their traditions and festivities. We have lots of festivals like Kadayawan in Davao, Ati-atihan in Iloilo and Moriones in the island of Marinduque.

Filipinos have proven the whole world that they can be the best in everything they do. Not only did they wowed audiences but also gained respect from them. Filipinos are very well known for their hospitality.  One can compare immediately Filipinos from other foreigners. If you visit Filipinos during dinner time, without hesitation they would offer you food or invite you to eat with them. Not only that Filipinos are known as best entertainers but also in different aspects. There are Filipino Scientist, Biologists and Chemists too. Among their works are coconut asthe renewable source of chemicals and fuels, invention of artifical coral reefs used for fisheries in Southeast Asia and discovered thirty-two species and one new genus of digenetic trematodes (parasites) in local fish from the Philippines. Filipinos also have always been a fan of Anime, koreanovela and teleseryes.

After the tragedy of Bagyong Ondoy, Filipinos managed to live a normal and happy life. Despite difficulties, Filipinos seen the good out of it. That is the true Filipino, eventhough through hardships they still maintain the smile on their faces.

One cannot leave a town in the Philippines if they have not been invited to a fiesta. That is one of a Filipino tradition. Fiestas is a time for them to invite anyone they will see walking by their house. They would let them eat anything that is on the table and would still offer you a “take home”.

Filipinos have strong family ties and that is why they are fond of reunions or small gathering. That is the time where you will meet relatives that you do not know and a friend that you have just discovered that the the two of you have the same blood line.

Most of Filipino families have a relative abroad which excites everyone in opening the balikbayan boxes and each of them expects that you will give them a bit of pasalubong. It does not matter if you bought it cheap or it is a discounted price, what you can be sure once a Filipino wears or use it, they feel like it is worth a million.

Although there are events and circumstances that the pride of pinoys are put to waste but you can be sure that Filipinos will rise again and face the challenge with his head held high. This is the best of being Pinoy, not only you will love our place and enjoy our food but also once you will fall, a Filipino is there to help.
