External Hemorrhoid Removal: Your Options

Are you suffering from hemorrhoids? If you can see the hemorrhoids or feel that they are outside of the anus, they are external hemorrhoids, and you need to know that external hemorrhoids need to be treated differently than internal hemorrhoids. Unfortunately external hemorrhoids are much more difficult to deal with than the internal hemorrhoids, and can be more painful as well.

If you have external hemorrhoids, you are going to have to find the proper external hemorrhoid removal treatment.

Sitz Bath

The first thing that your doctor will probably suggest if you need advice on external hemorrhoid removal is for you to take a sitz bath. This is a warm water bath for the buttocks and hips, and which pregnant women are advised to take after they have given birth, in order to help heal the area and avoid infection.

Sitz baths are very effective for external hemorrhoid removal, and are one of the simplest treatments that you can try to start off.

Topical Relief

Tip: You need to limit the amount of salt in your diet in order to reduce or prevent hemorrhoids. Too much salt will lead to fluid retention, which in turn will cause your body to swell, which includes the blood vessels that actually cause hemorrhoids.

The next step for external hemorrhoid removal will be for you to use a topical relief product. There are various different over-the-counter hemorrhoid creams that you can try, such as Preparation H which is certainly one of the most popular. Just make sure that you do not use this or any other cream for more than a week at a time, because they can cause the skin to atrophy.

Laser Hemorrhoid Removal

Tip: If you are suffering from this problem you will want to maintain even better hygeine than normal. Think about investing in some type of wet toilet paper instead of using the normal dry one, and also be sure to clean very well twice or even more times during every day.

There is also the option of using a laser to remove the external hemorrhoids, but this is considered as being one of the last resorts and should only be turned to when all other methods have been tried and failed.

You will also need to make sure that you are an eligible candidate for this procedure, and that means talking to your doctor about it and they will perform a few standard tests on you and ask you some basic questions, in order to determine whether or not they feel that you can safely go through for the laser removal.

Tip: If you are presently suffering from either internal or external hemorrhoids, you should avoid wiping with ordinary dry toilet paper. Instead, use a moistened bathroom towelette that contains aloe vera, or use a medicated wipe.

Keep in mind that you may not find the right external hemorrhoid removal option at first, and it often takes patients some trial and error before they are able to successfully deal with their hemorrhoids. Have patience, and make sure that you educate yourself on this condition as much as possible in order to have the most success here.

Hemorrhoids are always tough to deal with and can be downright embarrassing, but there are lots of great treatment options, so you need not worry.
