Knowhow-Now Article

Personalised gifts have become so popular that these days you can get almost anything personalised, from cards and candy to clothing. Perhaps it is because of the economic climate that British consumers are being forced to be more creative and money-savvy with their gifts. It could also be down to how easy it now is to order personalised gifts online. Or perhaps consumers are simply becoming more egotistical. Whatever the reason, the trend of bespoke, personal gifts is soaring.

A personalised gift is one of a kind, made especially for the recipient. It goes that step further in showing that you’ve truly thought about the gift and the recipient’s personality. It says you want them to have something uniquely theirs. A personalised gift makes them feel extra special and also means they are more likely to hold on to the gift for years to come, as it is essentially irreplaceable. Think about it: Are you more likely to cherish a normal coffee mug or a coffee mug with your photo and perhaps a funny caption on it?

In the same vain, when companies offer corporate gifts, personalising them for individual clients is going to have more impact than run-of-the-mill gifts. Often, when a client receives a gift, it quickly loses its luster when they realise hundreds of other clients have received the very same gift. Then it just becomes another gimmick. A gift with a personal touch, even something as simple as a Christmas card with their brand or name incorporated in the front design, works better than a standard corporate Christmas card. The main goal of corporate gifts is to act as a marketing tool, keeping your brand in the mind of your clients, and a personalised gift is a great way to do this.

Personalising gifts is also a fun way to adapt a well-known product and give it a twist. Imagine getting a sports fan a mock cover of a sports magazine or front page of a national newspaper with their image on the front and a title reading ‘Up and coming superstar wins gold for Britain.’ You could do something similar for music lovers, film buffs, or just about any other interest that could be incorporated into a magazine or newspaper topic.

Personalising your chocolate bars is another quirky, fun idea for special occasions where treats are popular (such as anniversaries, Valentine's Day, birthdays of special someone, even wedding favours). Anyone can buy a box of chocolates, but if you buy someone a box of chocolates with their name or a personal romantic message on the wrapper, it’s going to be much more special.

Thanks to the Internet, it’s now easier than ever to purchase personalised gifts, which is another reason they have become so popular. Whether you are personalising a gift with embossing, printing, engraving or adding a photo, you no longer need to go down the street, pick a gift, take it somewhere else to have it personalised and return a few days later to pick it up. The Internet and online bespoke gift shops allow you to order the gift, choose how to have it personalised and arrange for it to be delivered, all in a few minutes without even leaving your computer.

There are literally thousands of creative gift ideas for bespoke presents and the Internet is a great place to start. Next time you are looking for a unique gift that you are sure the recipient isn’t going to have, think about a personalised gift.
