Hawaii has only two seasons. Summer starts in April or May and goes on until November or December while winter starts in November or December and goes on until March or April. Temperatures in Hawaii are usually in the 80’s Fahrenheit during the day and around 60s during the night.

When discussing the rain in Hawaii, it usually occurs during the winter months and an average rainfall score for a year is about 70 inches across the islands. Some areas of the islands get around 400 inches of rainfall per year. There are also severe storms in Hawaii together with heavy rain and some areas end up being flooded. Every year Hawaii is dragged into the wakes of many hurricanes during the hurricane season but very rarely has such storms caused severe damages to the islands.
One of the best beaches for swimming in Hawaii is the Waikiki Beach in the heart of Oahu. The surf does not reach the shoreline and Waikiki Beach has two great restaurants and an International Marketplace along with an array of boutique shops making it a must visit for all shopaholics. Continuing on with Hawaiian facts, Hanauma Bay is perfect for marine based activities such as snorkeling among all kinds of fish, waves and countless reefs. Going early during the day is advised as it is a popular destination and the parking lot gets filled up instantaneously.
Some Hawaiian beaches are unusual because of its black sand or the green sea turtles that come to those beaches. They are educational and available for individuals as well as family visits and excursions.
According to Hawaii historical facts, the very first settlers of the Hawaii were the Polynesians that landed on the islands in A.D 500. Later on in A.D 1000, the Tahitians arrived. Then it wasn’t until the year 1778 that Captain James Cook brought about the white settlers. It is also a known that Oahu is home to the only palace in the United States of America. Iolani Palace on Oahu was the official home of the final two rulers of Hawaii; King Kalakaua and later, Queen Liliuokalani, the king’s sister.
