Want to create a record company emblem that will make the viewers’ eyes pop out?

Then try to learn from the masters!

Have a look at how the successful corporations have crafted their record company logos before designing your own so that you can understand what makes them so popular:

1. Elektra:

This famous company has taken its name from a Greek Goddess and although they have altered their brand mark quite a few times, none of them have been inspired by the Greek mythology. One of the logos that have been inspirational and distinct is a placement of two letters ‘E’ that have been crafted like one is balancing the other one on its tip. One of the letters has been crafted in upper case while the other one is in lower case. One of the letters is in red color while the other is in black. Overall, the image is smart, sophisticated yet distinct and attractive.

2. Tommy Boy Entertainment:

Their trademark is one of the smartest designs ever created due to its simplicity. It contains a silhouette of three figures dancing in the street. The background of the image is kept in white color which adds to its simplicity.

3. Island Def Jam:

A creatively designed and placed emblem; it contains an image of a scenery of the palm tree on one side of the monogram and the company name scripted smartly on the other side. The thick fonts of the business name make it informal and approachable while the combination of black and white colors for the trademark gives it a classic and sophisticated look.

4. Trojan:

Predictably the name has been inspired by the Greek legend and their business symbol resembles the same. It consists of a round monogram with an almost abstract of silhouette of a Trojan warrior. To add a unique touch to the emblem, they use different colors for the background of the badge. You will see this monogram in red, yellow, orange or blue which adds an exciting touch to the symbol.

5. Stax:

If you asked me to describe their business mark in one word, I would call it ‘contemporary’. Usually emblems are made up of images or illustrations, but this company has used a photograph like image that looks almost real enough to touch. It consists of an image of a hand snapping his fingers. The image is portrayed in black and white effects which make this design classic and contemporary.

6. Ruff Ryders:

Their metallic silver colored image would have been as appropriate for a video game or a car company as much as a record company logo. The thick silver colored fonts of the letter R seem intimidating and simple at the same time which makes it look slightly intimidating.

So before stepping into their world, try to learn what you are competing against so that you can create a design that is ready for action.
