Knowhow-Now Article

As one of Europe's largest business hubs, it's not uncommon to find yourself flying into the English capital for meetings, conferences or workshops. Whether you work within the UK or are traveling from abroad, visiting London on business can also be an opportunity to get to know the city better. So, even if you're exhausted after a day of meetings, fight the temptation to go back to your hotel room. London has a lot to offer, even if you only have a few hours to fill.

If you have a morning business meeting in London, wake up an hour early and enjoy a walk along the South Bank. This riverside stretch of pavement offers brilliant views of London's iconic skyline where you can watch the hustle and bustle of morning work-goers without getting caught-up in their frenzied pace. Grab a warm scone and a cup of tea from one of the nearby cafes and enjoy the nourishment as you walk through the city.

Once your work day is over, spice up your evening with a world-class curry in London's Brick Lane neighbourhood. Located in the borough of Tower Hamlets, Brick Lane is home to some of the best curry houses in the city and is one of London's trendiest urban hangouts. While you're there, shop in some of the Brick Lane thrift stores or wander through some of the nearby art galleries.

If it's your first time visiting London, you may want to check some of the tourist boxes during your visit. These include taking a ride on the famous London Eye observation wheel, walking through Hyde Park and up to the gates of Buckingham Palace and touring world-class museums, such as the National Gallery, the British Museum, the Tate Modern and the Natural History Museum. If you have an evening free from appointments, watch a show in London's famous West End theatre district. If you're seeking some entertainment, but don't have time to see an entire show, watch some street performers in Covent Garden.

As you can see, it's certainly worthwhile to find time during your busy business trip to see a bit of London. If, like many business travellers, you're staying near Heathrow, Gatwick or in one of the Stansted airport hotels, you'll be able to tour the city on foot or via the Tube without having to worry about driving your hired car around the busy streets. Though London is one of the largest and busiest cities in the world, it's actually fairly easy to navigate- so you have no excuse not to go exploring!
