Knowhow-Now Article

Nearly four years ago, Maruti Swift Dzire was initially launched in India, and it was considered merely as an additional boot to hatchback Maruti Swift. But it came out to be more than that and met phenomenal success, despite of its larger power to weight ratio that made it heavier. Till last year, the success rate calculated was of 39% market share in the sedan segment. The year 2012 witnessed launch of face-lifted Dzire, which was more compact and more urbane with overall length of 3995mm. As of now, this new model is on the verge to surpass the achievement of predecessor, as it has got better value for money. There are many additions to the exteriors as well as interiors to provide it a distinct look.

The Maruti Swift Dzire will appear bigger to you, although it is compact than 1st generation, until you see the tiny boot at rear. The front has new bigger and clearer swept back headlamps with newly shaped bumpers and clear fog lamps. The sides have blacked A & B pillar together with smartly crafted wheel arches that bestow an elegant appearance from side-angle, while the rest stunning aspect gets completed by stylish ORVMs with mounted turn-indicators and solid alloys. The rear has high-mounted stop lamp and Kizashi-inspired tail lamps that come across with royal instinct.

Maruti Swift Dzire has squeezed in shape but got larger when it comes to interior features. The increase in width has caused inside to become spacious with adequate headroom and legroom. The sedan has dual tone dashboard, electrically-powered steering that has mounted audio controls, integrated music player and automatic climate control system, while there are silver and chrome inserts on steering and central console to add contemporary feel to the cabin. Moreover, safety aspects are very well taken care of with dual SRS-airbags, ABS with EBD, seat-belts for all occupants and tilt steering wheel.

The Maruti Swift Dzire sedan is powered by two best available engines, in the form of 1.4L K-12M VVT 1.2L petrol and 1.3L D13A diesel motor. Here petrol power-train yields 86bhp of max power and 114Nm of top torque. The other companion churns 75bhp of utmost power together with 190Nm of peak torque. Both these performance oriented engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Although a 4-speed automatic transmission is also at hand with petrol mid-variant.

Apart from being powerful the engines are frugal too, as petrol-run motor offers a mileage of 19.1 kmpl besides 23.4kmpl for the diesel motorized version. These miraculous figures are certified by ARAI.
