Knowhow-Now Article

Migraine headaches are excruciating and so often the symptoms are treated and the triggers are managed, but the root cause is not found. The trigger mechanism in a gun is what shoots the bullet. The trigger for a migraine can be light, stress and many other things.

But with a gun, pulling the trigger happens after there is a motive. The motive would be the root cause and the trigger is just a means to and end.

So, what is the root cause of your migraine? No one can be sure, but your migraine headache could be provoked by black mold. If you can ascertain mold as the root cause then you could possibly reduce those migraine headaches that cause so much trouble.

You will need to look for other symptoms associated with mold such as runny nose, tiredness, sinus trouble, sinus headaches, ears feel full, nausea, unable to concentrate, sometimes respiratory problems, itching, sneezing, soar throat and any pressure around the eyes.

Keeping notes a few times per day will help you try to isolate a mold issue. If you have a few of the mold symptoms above, then you possibly have a mold problem that is the underlying cause of your migraine headaches. Now you must figure out where the mold is growing.

Always suspect the basement, crawl spaces, wet foundation around the house, then look to the attic and wet rafters, wet insulation and any signs of previously wet areas. One way to figure out the moldy area is to notice if you start feeling bad while in it. Make a note and try again a few days later. If you feel worse again, then start looking for your water source.

Now, just stop the water. You may have to wrap pipes, fix a roof, extend the gutter downspouts away from the house, clean the sump pump pit, bleach the walls and so on. It can be a very intricate process. But the outcome is fewer migraine headaches.

If you can’t figure out that there is a mold problem, then you should buy a self mold test kit from your local retailer. The way it works is that you put a test in the house, you put a test outside the house at the same time and then following directions mail it in to their lab for the test results.

If you find that your indoor mold is much higher than the outside mold, then maybe there is a problem. Otherwise, if the indoor mold is relatively the same as outside, then you have just eliminated house mold as the root cause of your migraine headache.

In a few instances you could have a very high concentration of mold outside your home which is growing during the season. In which case you will have to find a proper filter and air conditioning system. But you should eliminate mold as a source because the reward is great.

Migraine headaches in houses with overloaded mold concentrations can be eliminated if you can find the source of the mold infestation and eliminate it for ever. Other options to mold abatement are available.
