We bring you the list of popular cars which auto companies are expected to give facelifts to get back in action and lure the customers to the showrooms.

Maruti Swift Sport

It is inevitable to skip Maruti while talking about new car launches or spawning the retouched version of existing cars and spinning out a new variant of its popular car. In 2011 Maruti brought to the domestic market the revamped version of Maruti Swift hatchback and now the small car wizard is expected to launch the Suzuki Swift Sport in India. Suzuki Sport is offered in two body styles in the global market that is the three door and five door trim levels. However, the India bound Swift Sport will be a five door version and will come as a stripped down version wearing a sporty skin to render it a sporty look. Reports claim that the Swift Sport might get either a 1.4 litre petrol engine or a 1.6 litre motor from the Maruti SX4. The company has not announced the launch date yet.

Maruti Ritz

Just like Maruti cars dominate the Indian roads, among the facelifts being launched this year most of them belong to Maruti Suzuki India. Maruti’s not so popular hatch, Ritz is up for a cosmetic change. The car rendered its looks to the new Maruti Ertiga compact MPV and hence is all set to go under the knife. The facelift of Ritz will apparently get a fresh front fascia and is likely to shed the shabby rear and upgrade to a revamped back. The hatchback is likely to retain the same engine contours which it currently has. The mighty engine powering Ritz makes it a robust hatch engendering ample power and making it frugal.

Chevrolet Cruze

Chevrolet’s modish and mighty sedan Cruze is all set to get a new look. Cruze is a highly popular premium sedan which is available only in diesel guise. Armed with the powerful DOHC 2.0 litre, Z series diesel powerplant, the upgraded Cruse sedan is expected to be mated with a six speed manual and automatic transmission. New Cruze will be more powerful with the DOHC 2.0 litre, Z Series diesel engine pooping out 163bhp of staggering power, the outgoing model is housed with a 150 bhp diesel engine. Facelifted Chevrolet Cruze will probably bow in by the end of next month.

Mahindra Verito

The czar of SUV segment in India, Mahindra is ready to give a touch up to the only sedan present in its fleet of cars, Mahindra Verito. Mahindra Verito which was earlier named as Mahindra Renault Logan got a new look and a new name after Mahindra’s divorce with Renault. Verito got a good response from the customers and will also be launched in a trimmed boot, but before that Mahindra will roll out the facelift of Verito. Amongst the preeminent changes that the sedan will get, a fresh front grille, a thick line on the engine hood and an upright stance are a few to name. The car will get some prominent changes on the interiors front which includes new seats, a fresh instrument cluster and a reworked central console.

2013 Fiat Linea

Fiat is grappling to ramp up its falling sales, in wake of revving up its sluggish sales; the Italian auto maker gave a facelift to its cars, Fiat Punto and Fiat Linea earlier in the month of January. But it seems, the facelift made no difference to Fiat sales in India and the auto maker is readying itself to make further changes in its sedan Linea. This is an interesting thing to witness as normally a car doesn’t get a facelift twice in the same year. The car will don modish and fresh looks; the company is going solo to encourage its sales and hence is coming up with the refreshed look of the sedan.

2013 Fiat Punto

The Fiat Punto Diesel has got some distinctive driving dynamics and smooth diesel engine under the hood along with well finished and well organized cabin. The best part is its Italian exterior design that that is so unique in the segment. The Italian care lovers in the country will soon be graced with the ‘sports’ version of Fiat Punto hatchback with refined engine. The price tag will read a Rs 30000 above the existing cost as it there are anticipations of some marvelous stuffing of elements inside-out. There will be body decals, chrome work on the dash that will be offered in three shades offered in the form of red, black and white, alongside chrome tipped exhaust pipe at rear.

Chevrolet Captiva

At the launch of new Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3, the company hinted at the launch of upgraded Chevrolet Captiva which was expected to happen this year. One of the reasons for the dud sales of Captiva could be its high price therefore Chevrolet could slice Captiva’s price. What’s going to be new in the facelifted Captiva? The changes will apparently include a new front look, enormous air intake area and a mightier engine that will generating two different power outputs, 163 hp and 184 hp. Under the hood will be the 2.2 l turbo diesel horse , the SUV could be launched by October, priced between Rs 19 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. It seems that the company is mulling to add more changes to the SUV that is why its launch date has been pushed ahead to October.
