The Verdict On The Latest HTC Android Phones

As far as Android phones are concerned, HTC takes the plum as the pioneering brand. When Android was launched in 2008, HTC's Dream was the vehicle of choice. The HTC Dream was the first in the long list of HTC Android phones. This HTC phone was sold in the continental USA as the T-Mobile G1, the same brand name it carried in some parts of Europe. Within a few months from launch, the model's sales figures surpassed the one million mark. While the G1 was eventually discontinued, other models with better hardwares and recently developed software were introduced into the global market.

In 2010, Google's flagship Android phone product, the Galaxy Nexus, was manufactured under the HTC brand. Other HTC branded Android phones include: Sapphire, Desire, Espresso, Vivo, ChaCha, Ruby, Evita, Primo, Rezound, and Evo 3D. Aside from Android phones, HTC also manufactures Windows Mobile phones and PDAs. Their focus, however, remains with the Android platform. This Android phone brand competes head on with some of the world's most prolific Android phone manufacturers Motorola and Samsung.

The latest HTC Android phones to hit the market belong to the One series designated as S, V, and X. These innovative Android phones are consistently ranked among the top picks in consumer and expert mobile phone review websites. Here are some of the reasons why these Android phones from HTC are taking the market by storm:

Tip: Do you use the Map app on your iPhone to get directions? Make sure you save your home address to your bookmark. You will not have to type this address again: access your bookmarks and you will get directions to go home within a few seconds.

1. Speed in a slim and lithe package - The HTC One S packs more power than it looks. Although some would be turned off by the thinness of the One S, consumers are amazed to find that it packs the latest Sense 4 user interface running seamlessly with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich version. The slim and svelte construction has a luxurious look and feel. At only .31 of an inch thin, this is not only the slimmest of all HTC Android phones but among all other smartphones in the market as well. Although the thinness of the HTC One S leaves out an SD card slot for memory expansion, it comes with 16 gigabyte of internal storage as well as a 25 gigabyte free cloud storage through Dropbox. The HTC One S sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen that presents crisp images in superb quality and detail with great contrast and vibrant colors. It is also fitted with a rear camera with an LED flash that takes 8mp photographs even in low light conditions. The HTC One S retails for around $200 with a data plan.
2. Versatility and practicality - HTC's One V is capable of performing a multitude of tasks despite its single core processor. Although not much is said about this variant in the One series, it does get a couple of thumbs up on several fronts. One of this model's good points is its compact curved chin construction that makes it easy to handle. This model's web browsing capabilities also boast of practicality with features that allow for automatic resizing of text so that it fits your screen and for saving web pages so that you can continue reading at a later time even without internet connection. Another plus about the One V is its built-in Beats Audio music management software. Just like the One S and the One X, the One V is also equipped with the HTC Image Chip which gives consumers a whole range of photography effects and shooting modes. Its rear facing camera, however, only shoots 5mp images.

3. Exceptional inside and out - Of the latest HTC Android phones, the HTC One X is exceptionally powerful with its robust software. Aside from the seamless mingling of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the Sense 4 user interface, the HTC One X comes preloaded with a Kindle ebook reader, a music subscription with MOG, and an internet radio streaming service care of TuneIn. Another thing that makes the HTC One X from others in the company's product listing is its construction. Instead of the anodized aluminum casing found in other mobile phone models from HTC, this model is constructed out of polycarbonate plastic. There is nothing cheap about this plastic construction. The high grade plastic construction actually feels quite pricey especially since it weighs solidly at 4.6 ounces. Although its screen is bigger than the One S, the HTC One X's 4.7-inch super LCD screen does not quite render images and videos that are as crisp and vibrantly colored. The retail price of the HTC One X does not stray far from the others in the One series at about $150.

Fast, sensible and exceptional, these are the qualities of the latest Android phones in the stable of HTC. It has kept them at par among the best in the market, and they will continue to do so with more innovations in their product lines.
