Knowhow-Now Article

Char dham yatra is also called the significant experience for the person following the Hindu faith.  The literal meaning of Char Dham is four places that are the residences of gods.  These places cover Gangotri, Yamnotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.  You find all these four places in the state of Uttaranchal. Before planning for such a pious trip, it is advised to go for Char Dham Yatra map. One of the important things in the mythology of the Hindus is that this yatra is complete if it is done in the manner of the parikrima.  There is a way of the journey. You can start from Yamnotri and proceed to Gangotri and finally move to Badrinath and Kedarnath.

The best thing about Char Dham Yatra is that it washes the sins of the devotee away and leads him to the salvation path also called the Moksha.  My parents too were interested to go for this type of Yatra.  We started from Delhi and proceeded towards Haridwar and it was fun and excitement on the way.  There was an ‘Arti’ on the bank of river Yamuna and it was really an amazing experience. It was a wonderful scene as if we all were released of the fatigue.  Within some minutes, there was a divine grace that engulfed all of us and it became really an amazing experience.

We went through the wonderful Rishikesh and from there, proceeded towards Yamunotri.  This is site of goddess Yamuna and is of great value in the Hindu circles. As per the Hindu texts, the glorious lord Krishna played on the banks of river Yamuna. We also went to the Hanuman Chetty temple and it was really a great experience and from here we proceeded ahead. You also get the horses on rental basis and you will have the wonderful view of the waterfalls.

The next spot is the Gangotri. This is a place where Ganga is mixed with earth. You also have the 18th century temple at this place and it was really amazing to visit this place.  When we reached at this sacred spot, it was as if the heart was filled with the devotion and there was hustle and bustle of the religious activities everywhere.  Apart from talking the sacred dip at the river Ganges, we visited many beautiful places near this.  We had a benefit of the tour package and it was all fun, good accommodation and as if we were enjoying everything.

Our next destination was Kedarnath and we felt spiritualized on seeing this place.  This place is also called the place where lord Shiva resides. We also went to temple built by the Pandavas. The current temple was built under the guidance of Adi Shankarachaya and this took place in the 18th century.  There is an assembly hall and it is really a fine experience to see and sit there. The fourth in the list is Badrinath.  It is located in the Nar Narayan Parvat. Badrinath becomes the culmination of Char Dham Yatra.
