The Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet In Review

Those who had laptops initially gave the iPad a lukewarm reception, not realizing the capabilities of the brand-new gadget. But then, the true intent of the iPad began to become clearer. It didn't take long before all the main suppliers of cell phones and computers wanted in on on the strong-growing action. Tablets like the iPad became the latest must-have. And Dell's stockholders were going to be worried if they didn't attempt and corner a piece of the market. That is why they have come out with the Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet. In this article, we are going to take a look at this tablet and whether or not it is worth your money.

The first drawback on this tablet is the company that is making it. Quality and reliability are not trademarks of this company's products. Dell also has a questionable history of providing customer service. After the warranty on your product expires, you are going to be billed for customer service phone calls to Dell - at least that is what many customers say. You'll see that perhaps the price of this gadget is cheaper than most, you should factor in the longer-term cost of the company you're doing business with.

The tablet has the Android OS (this version is affectionately referrend to as Froyo), which means that it should allow you to multitask between several programs fairly easily. It's not a necessity to keep particular programs "live" in order to receive messages from the system's notification service, while at the same time listening to MP3s and keeping ypur GPS information updated. It gives user-friendly access to your Gmail and other e-mail programs and accounts, so you won't have to concerned about whether someone can reach you when you have your tablet with you.

Video chat was not present in the first iPad offering, and it's fantastic that it is with this tablet. Video chat is built-in to this tablet via a front-facing panel cam and Qik software. The problem is , however, that you won't be able to communicate with thoseothers who don't use the same Dell tablet, or something compatible. What this means is that the video chat feature is not all-encompassing in its application. A fillip for this tablet is the integrated offering of the On Demand service from Blockbuster. We're not so sure that this is a strong feature, after all, because of the troubles Blockbuster is having in the past several months.

Thus far, there aren't too many reviews about this specific product although some people are wondering what the point of this product might really be. This Dell tablet's real use is limited by its not being extensive and its consequent inability to communicate with incompatible devices. However, if you believe you're missing out and you are interested to see whether tablets are actually the thing for you, this tablet is a cheap way for you to figure it out. Just make sure you know what you are paying for before you actually send your money to Dell.
