Child star Darsheel Safary is said to have performed some daring action sequences in his upcoming film 'Zokkomon' under the guidance and tutelage of Hollywood actor Jackie Chan's stunt director William Ong. The 15-year-old, Darsheel who made his Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan's 'Taare Zameen Par', is playing a superhero in the film, Zokkomon. He has performed all the stunts himself, and he will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar, says a source. 'Darsheel trained for months to perfect his moves with international stunt director William Ong, who has worked with the legendary Jackie Chan,' said the source.
Darsheel says he had a good time training and shooting for the movie, 'I loved doing the action sequences. I am thrilled to see myself as Zokkomon, all the special effects and action sequences are something I haven't done before,' said Darsheel. Darsheel Safary is absolutely thrilled to be playing Zokkomon, a super hero and fulfilled his fantasy of playing a super hero, but wishes that he can be a super hero in real life too! “I feel great and fortunate to fulfill my fantasy. I wish to help the world if granted these superpowers in real life too,' said Darsheel. ''Zokkomon' is a completely different movie. The experience was very different as 'Taare Zameen Par' was an emotional movie and this is an adventure-action film,' he added. The young actor had to do a lot of homework before going on the sets. “It used to take me hours to get into the superhero look. I worked hard to get into the character - I had to jump around and fly but it was fun. A special costume was designed for me - it included eye mask, suit, gloves, watch etc. It was heavy. My role is very different and it will surprise the audience,” said Darsheel.
Zokkomon is a heart rendering tale about a simple and ordinary boy, Kunal, played by Darsheel who finds the strength to face extra ordinary challenges of life. Kunal is an orphaned boy who is left to fend for himself when his cruel and heartless uncle abandons him. Kunal discovers the hero within his own self and begins his epic journey of adventure as he metamorphoses into Zokkomon. Zokkomon has been written and directed by debutant director, Satyajit Bhatkal. The film also has Bollywood actor Anupam Kher in a double role, one that of an evil uncle and the other that of a scientist. Actress Manjari Phadnis who plays teacher and mentor to Darsheel is the female lead in the film.
