Double The Fun With Double Hammocks

A hammock in itself is a great way to swing away the summer heat whether or not you are nestled in a far off tropical island or tucked inside your backyard. Nothing beats the feeling of having the gentle breeze hypnotizing you to a restful sleep. Nevertheless, isn’t it more fun if you and someone dear can share the hammock together? Maybe it is time to consider double hammocks so that you and the person in your mind can lie in it together.

Choosing the best double hammocks

• There are several factors to remember when you have finally decided to buy the hammock. These include the materials used, the location where you intend to hang the hammock and how it is designed. Hammocks are good especially during warm summer days. However, a hammock double the size is ideal because it has more space to accommodate a couple or any two people to share it at the same time. It is the perfect way to spend bonding moments between couples, parents and child, or simply by yourself.

• When choosing a double hammock it is important to examine the materials used closely. Most hammocks are made from nets because these materials are durable. Other hammocks are made from heavy-duty ropes. Hammocks made of ropes offer more ventilation because their designs are more open than that of the net hammocks. The latest models that are being introduced in the market now use nylon or hand-woven cotton. Experts say hammocks made from these materials are more comfortable. Aside from that they come in many different colors that match the vibrant summer hue.

• There is a variety of options when it comes to hanging the hammock. The standard style is to hang the swing between two sturdy trees or two stable posts. The other style goes portable by using special frames that easily make it possible for the hammock to be moved from one place to another. If you choose the latter, your hammock ride can be enjoyed with equal comfort and fun either at home or at the beach.

• Lastly, consider the design or appearance of the hammock. Hammock users who opt for the traditional rope or net-made swing can have theirs in natural colors. The more carefree ones can choose the woven or cotton hammocks that come in bright colors. The chosen color can even compliment or harmonize with the other outdoor furniture.

Hanging Double Hammocks

• Because the hammock is going to hold the weight of two people, find two larger trees with enough space between them. If there are no trees, use two posts that are firmly anchored on the ground to ensure stability. Allot a space that allows the hammock to swing without hitting the trees or the poles. Measure the distance.

• You can either drill holes through the trees to insert long eyebolts or use hammock straps to wrap around the trees to hold the hammock up. Attach the hammock by linking it to the bolts using a chain link connector.

• Raise the hammock at your desired height leaving at least four feet from the ground. Because it is a hammock for two, there is the need to pull the chain up some more to avoid hitting the ground when both people mount the hammock.

Enjoying a hammock does not mean it is to be done by the lonesome. Double hammocks can make it twice the fun if your special someone lie next to you as you both gently sway away the cares and worries of the world. In addition, falling off the ground is one of your fewer concerns because double hammocks are meant to hold you together.
