Backlinks are one of the best methods of increasing search engine optimization results from the search engines.
What are backlinks?
A backlink is any link that points to your Website project from outside the project itself. This can be done through any of the following methods:
• Promoting written content by submitting it to blogs, article directories, RSS readers and other places meant to get your written story to the masses.
• Promoting your content through other multimedia platforms like videos and podcasts.
• Linking with other related Website entities that are within your given niche. Reciprocal links, link farms and link directories are largely not recommended compared to 3-way links. A 3-way link is where site A links to site B who then links to site C while site C links back to site A.
These are just some of the ways to build your online identity through a backlink campaign.
Even in the creation of backlinks, they are not all created equal. Simply put, a backlink needs to push hard on your targeted keyword phrase in the following ways.
The following pointers will help you to create high powered backlinks
*** URL Inclusion ***
If you can include your backlink in the root of the link you are creating it is a major bonus for you. In such cases, if you can have it appear in the link itself you will be well on your way to creating a high powered backlink.
Let’s see how that works using the keyword phrase SEO Destination.
GOOD: MyDomain.com/MyFolder/MyFile.htm (Note: this is good because it is at least a link pointing to you.).
ENHANCED: MyDomain.com/SEOdestinationFolder/SEOdestinationFile.htm
TOP: SEOdestination.com/SEOdestinationFolder/SEOdestinationFile.htm
*** Keyword Wrapping ***
Being careful in what you wrap is important to your success. Perhaps it seems to make sense to wrap word combinations like “next” but it certainly is not your best strategy.
To show this in process I have written an extremely bad A HREF tag so that you can see the inner working information.
GOOD: A HREF>Click Here
ENHANCED: A HREF>SEO
BEST:A HREF>SEO Destination
*** Title Tagging ***
of the most overlooked aspects of creating backlinks is targeted title tagging. You really shouldn’t miss this step considering how much work takes place in getting the link setup in the first place.
The title tag process looks like this.
GOOD: N/A.
BETTER: title=”SEO” (NOTE: At least part of the keyword phrase is included.
BEST:title=”SEO Destination”
*** Putting It All Together ***
Putting all three of these concepts together as one leads to a high quality link built for your project which increases the traffic flow you are looking for when done often enough. With one project I have worked on I have achieved 60 front page keyword phrases on the front pages of Google, BING, Yahoo, AltaVista & Ask strictly by launching a massive backlink campaign.
This code is written very badly to provide you with a visual of what the code itself should look like.
Once wrapped in < and > the beginning code would look like A HREF=”http://. To close off the code you would add an ending code of /A wrapped in the < and >. The only brackets to use are < and > when writing this code.
In conclusion a highly optimized backlink put all together would look similar to the following only with your selected keyword phrase focused upon.
A HREF=”SEOdestination.com/SEOdestinationFolder/SEOdestinationFile.htm“ title=”SEO Destination”>SEO Destination I hope the above information on backlinks has been helpful for you.
