How You Can Make Your Smile Sparkle

Your smile is something that is one of the first things people notice about you. If your teeth are not quite as white as you would like them to be, you may be tempted to hide your smile. There is no reason to hide your smile because this article will show you how to get a beautiful white smile that will have you smiling from ear to ear with confidence.

One thing you need to do is brush your teeth at least twice a day with a whitening toothpaste. There are many whitening toothpastes on the market that you can use. It will be even better if you use your whitening toothpaste with a good electronic toothbrush. These toothbrushes are able to clean your teeth much better than a traditional toothbrush.

Along with regular brushing, you should also floss at least one time a day. Flossing helps remove tarter and plaque that can accumulate near the gum line. As the tartar or plaque accumulates, it begins to discolor your teeth.

You can prevent further staining by avoiding foods and beverages that stain the teeth. Some of the drinks that can yellow your teeth are wine, tea, coffee and sodas. If you can not avoid them, try drinking through a straw so the liquid does not touch your teeth as much. There are also some foods that can stain your teeth. Sauces, berries and sweets are some of the foods that discolor your teeth. One way to avoid as much discoloration with these foods is to try to swallow them as quick as possible. You should still chew the food, and do not swallow so fast you choke.

To actually make your teeth whiter, you can try over the counter whitening products. There are a few options and they can be found at most drugstores. You can use whitening strips. These sit on your teeth for several minutes at a time and whiten. It usually takes several days or weeks to see a lot of change. There are also trays with bleaching gel. Just like the whitening strips, it takes quite a while to see big changes, but small changes can be seen after using either of these a time or two.

Another option is the dentist. Your dentist can whiten your teeth using much stronger products than you can buy at your local drugstore. They usually use a special light, too. This usually costs several hundred dollars and takes a fairly short amount of time, around an hour or so.

Some local beauty salons offer teeth whitening. This is similar to what a dentist does, but the bleaching agent is not as strong. This generally costs around $100 and takes about an hour. Usually you see a pretty big change after just one session of this type of whitening.

Luckily, there are several ways that you can whiten your smile. Try out some of the tips shared in this article and you can smile with confidence.
