Maruti India is known as the small car wizard of the Indian auto market, the car maker has around eight hatchbacks in its fleet of cars. Maruti of late tweaked Maruti A-Star hatchback and now it is readying itself to give a facelift to Maruti Ritz. Maruti’s compact Ertiga is also conceived on Maruti Ritz platform. Maruti Ritz is present in the Indian car market in both guise diesel and petrol. The car is one of the best sellers of its segment and the diesel variant sells in good numbers. Though, the rear of the hatchback is usually not appreciated by the onlookers. Maruti Suzuki India launched the Maruti Ritz hatchback three years ago in the Indian auto market and the car is not all set to get a mid-life facelift. This would be the first facelift that the car would get ever since its launch. Maruti Ritz price start at around Rs 4.16 lakh (ex-showroom price) and gives a close competition to Tata Indica hatchback, Chevrolet Beat diesel and Skoda Fabia.

The spy shots of the tweaked Maruti Ritz hatchback have been surfacing the internet these days. The upgraded Ritz could be launched soon though the car maker has not hinted on the launch date of the facelifted hatchback. The test mule of Ritz has also been sneaked aplenty times on the roads of India. The car is likely to get a new front look and a new grille. Maruti so far has launched three cars in India until now that includes, new Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti Swift Alpha and Maruti Ertiga. The interiors of the car will also come affixed with a lot of new features and comfort features along with a new theme and better quality materials used inside. One thing that will remain unchanged are the 1.2 l petrol and 1.3 L Fiat sourced multijet diesel engine that powers the petrol and diesel version of the hatchback respectively.

The diesel version is extremely frugal and hence is one of the reasons why it sells more in number. 2012 Maruti Ritz will have a better appearance from the outside and will also get better from inside. Maruti in wake of regaining its lost share in India plans to bring in new cars in India and also tap new segments. Maruti is currently developing a new SUV called Maruti XA Alpha which will also be priced aggressively like Ertiga MPV. Maruti XA Alpha SUV is still in concept stage and will be launched next year in India. Also the auto aficionados suggest that Maruti will soon replace its entry level car Maruti 800 with a tweaked version that is expected to hit the Indian market by the end of this year. Maruti’s Swift Dzire sedan has also been clocking good sales after it was launched in a shorter and new avatar this has also helped Maruti to post good growth in the first quarter of 2012. The recently launched Maruti Ertiga is also getting good response from the customers.
