How To Reduce Cholesterol Levels Naturally

Medication is not always the only answer to maintaining natural levels of cholesterol. In some cases where lifestyle modification is still an option, one can reduce cholesterol levels by maintaining a healthy diet. A hyperlipidemic can reduce cholesterol levels  the natural way by eating healthy and exercising regularly.

Hyperlipidemia is a physical disorder wherein a person has high levels of lipids or lipoproteins in the blood. This condition is brought about by the regular ingestion of foods that are high in cholesterol. Also known as hyperlipoproteinemia, this disorder is one of the leading causes of heart attacks today. This is how heart conditions develop over time.

Regular intake of foods that are high in cholesterol will surely increase LDL or low-density lipoprotein levels in the body. Also referred to as “bad” cholesterol, an excess in LDL can result to formation of lumps on blood vessel walls. The process of this build up is called thrombosis and it continues to build up as more LDL is induced by the system. Then, there will come a time when there is too much thrombus along the blood vessel walls which lead to increased blood pressure. This increase in pressure has a direct effect on the thrombus or blood clots, although it is lodged to the blood vessel walls, the increase in pressure can force a thrombus to detach. Once a thrombus is detached from the blood vessel wall, it becomes what physicians refer to as plaque. This plaque flows together with our blood; however, the problem happens when plaques are big enough to clog an artery so blood will no longer be able to flow freely. This obstruction in blood flow can sometimes affect vital body parts such as your heart; if so, this will result to cardiac arrest or heart attack.

The only way to prevent this from happening is to reduce cholesterol levels as early as now. Like mentioned above, the best way to reduce cholesterol levels is to modify your lifestyle. It’s a great way to reduce LDL without using any medication. Not only is it safe and natural but it is also very affordable, all you have to invest on is healthy food.
