Taking Time To Prepare High End Chocolate Desserts

By nature, preparing delicious high end chocolate desserts should be easy because the quality of the ingredients alone can guarantee that the sweets you create will taste good. Possibly the most important thing to remember with high end chocolate desserts is to refrain from drowning the distinctive taste of chocolate with other ingredients. The goal should be to achieve a delicate combination of flavors, taking care to allow your chocolate to reign supreme.

A Chocolate Cake Fit for a Queen

Chocolate cakes hold a special place in most kitchens and when these are made with the best ingredients, what you have is a truly high end chocolate dessert fit for a queen. Just make sure that the cocoa and the bittersweet chocolate you use is the finest you can get.

Cake Ingredients:

• Baking spray
• One and a half cup of all-purpose flour
• One cup white sugar
• One-third cup plus one teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
• One teaspoon baking soda
• A pinch of salt
• Three-fourths cup sour cream
• One-third cup vegetable oil
• One large egg
• One teaspoon white vinegar
• Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
• One-fourth teaspoon cinnamon

Filling Ingredients:

• One teaspoon unflavored gelatin
• One and a half tablespoons cold water
• Two and a half ounces white chocolate, finely chopped
• Three-fourths cup heavy cream

Glaze Ingredients:

• Six ounces finely chopped bittersweet chocolate
• Two and a half cups of heavy cream
• Two tablespoons light corn syrup
• Two ounces white chocolate, for decoration, finely chopped
• One dozen large, well-shaped strawberries

Procedure:

1. Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit. Spray four nonstick spring form pans (4 to 4 1/2-inches).

2. In one bowl, mix together all dry ingredients. In another, whisk sour cream, oil, egg, vinegar, and vanilla.

3. Stir in flour mixture only until combined. Spread into pans and bake for 28 to 30 minutes.

4. Let cool in pans for five minutes on wire rack then invert cakes directly onto wire rack. Remove sides and bottoms of pans and cool completely.

5. Prepare the filling by sprinkling gelatin into a saucepan with one and a half tablespoons cold water. Gently heat over low fire till dissolved.

6. Add white chocolate; stir over low heat until melted. Remove from fire and stir into cream in a third bowl.

7. Chill for 25 minutes then beat till stiff peaks form. Put filling into a pastry bag fitted with a half-inch plain tip.

8. Assemble the cake. Slice cakes to form layers, spread filling using the pastry bag. Stack layers on top of one another in a large tray.

9. Prepare frosting by putting bittersweet chocolate in a small bowl. In a microwave, combine and let boil cream and corn syrup. Pour over chocolate. Let stand for two to three minutes then whisk until smooth.

10. Spoon the glaze over cakes, letting excess run off into tray. Refrigerate to allow glaze to set

11. Melt white chocolate by putting in a resealable plastic bag and placing in a bowl of very hot water for five minutes. Arrange strawberries on top of the cake and drizzle chocolate over strawberries.

A Simple High End Chocolate Dessert

This chocolate fudge is super easy to prepare but it is truly one of those high end chocolate desserts that you will want to have in your kitchen at all times. Again, make sure you get the best ever cocoa and chocolate chips.

Ingredients:

• Three cups granulated sugar
• One can evaporated milk
• 18 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
• Half a pound of butter, cut into small pieces
• Half teaspoon vanilla
• Two and a half cups chopped walnuts or pecans or almonds

Procedure:

Combine all ingredients except the nuts. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly till thick. Fold in nuts, spread onto nonstick cookie sheet. Cool and slice.
