What People Think About The Paleo Diet

Commonly referred to as the Paleo Diet, Paleolithic Diet aims to teach the importance of eating the same foods that our ancestors ate.

Although the idea may sound unfamiliar to many, this is not entirely new because it was first publicly introduced back in 1970’s by Walter Voegtlin. Giving it a closer inspection even confirms that this type of diet bears several similarities to the Atkins diet and the Meat Lovers Diets.

Tip: A great idea that people who are trying to lose weight should use is to make emergency snack packs filled with healthy foods for those occasions where you are starving and looking for something to eat. This will help you resist the temptation to eat something unhealthy that you would regret.

These days, Paleo Diet has gained the nickname “caveman’s diet” simply because it places great emphasis on natural foods. This means no sugar, no flour and no processed foods in the meals of those who seriously want to follow it. This revolves around the theory that anything that needs to be cooked to be edible does some harm on the body. In comparison, ancient people consumed nothing but natural foods and they were more healthy and athletic than most in our times. In fact, Paleo Diet results claim that cavemen didn’t have the same health problems that many people now experience such as arthritis, osteoporosis, heart disease and others.

Paleo Diet advocates believe that human health started to decline during the time when agriculture became widely accepted. They say that modern farming process damages the body. To be really healthy, eating the same food that cavemen do is the solution.

Tip: Drink water every day and every time you are thirsty. Water has a great property of removing toxins from your body, which is the flushing effect you experience after drinking a full 8 cups of water or more each day.

This means consuming fruits, vegetable, fish, lean meat and other natural foods. Actually, some even say that it is important to buy the meat of grass-fed animals in order to get the best results. This can be difficult, however, that’s why many Paleo Diet followers make certain adjustments regarding this rule. Finding possible equivalents and alternatives is very necessary.

Grains, beans and peanuts are prohibited. The same is true for sugar and dairy products. If you are an alcoholic, you will need to kick the habit. Abstaining from such beverages is crucial to seriously follow the diet.

Tip: Fast weight loss can be easy if you need to just lose a few pounds for a short term goal. It is not uncommon to have 2-4 pounds of retained water at any given time.

Numerous testimonials on the web share the positive Paleo Diet results that they have personally experienced. These people enthusiastically tell that they have increased their strength and that they feel healthier than before.

Of course, the diet plan also has its own critics. Many health buffs condemn it for being unrealistic, pointing out that it can be very hard to find foods that are 100% natural. Also, some say that there are inconsistencies in the diet plan’s many variations. Oil is generally not allowed in the Paleo Diet but there are those that use canola oil and other substitute.

In the end, it will be up to the interested person whether he will decide to start with this diet program or not. Paleo Diet results found on the internet illustrate the numerous advantages but, like any other diet plan, it also has its share of disadvantages.
