Prostate Pain-The Reasons Behind The Agony

Prostate pain is a feeling of burning sensation and discomfort in the prostate gland. Prostate gland surrounds the tube that carries the urine out from the bladder and is responsible for semen production. When there is prostate pain, there would be a chance of having medical conditions and even health complications.

Today, it is very common for prostate gland to be enlarged as men get older and older. Enlarged prostate is as well called as the "benign prostatic hyperplasia" or BPH, which is not entirely connected with prostate pain. But an enlarged prostate could cause problems like difficulty in urination as well as difficulty in emptying the bladder.

One more reason why men have prostate pain is due to the medical condition known as prostatitis. This is an inflammation or infection that occurs when there is an increase of bacterial growth in the prostate gland. The signs and symptoms of prostatitis may differ from one person to another; generally, most affected individuals may experience burning and pain sensation  as well as inability to empty the bladder upon urination.

An abscess or a cyst in the prostate could as well cause prostate pain. The cyst is a benign sac of air, fluid, or other substances that causes obstruction in the area, thus causing pain and inflammation. An abscess is a pus formed that could cause inflammation. However, prostate pain could also be an indication of a more severe health condition such as advanced prostate cancer.

Prostate pain due to acute prostatitis could be life threatening. For this reason, the bacteria could spread in the body of the affected individual, which could eventually cause further complications.

Ask for immediate medical care for severe signs and symptoms of the different medical condition related to prostate. Among the symptoms that one must be aware of is hyperthermia or increased level of body temperature (higher than 38 degrees Celsius), difficulty in urination, or severe genital and lower back pain. Actually, these are medical emergencies that you should take into consideration.
