Most women will have that one pair of jeans that go with anything, or admit to owning a top that hides a multitude of sins when they're is feeling less than their best. And while there is nothing wrong with having a few items of clothing in your wardrobe that you can’t live without, the danger is if you wear them the same way every time, things can get a bit boring.
However, this doesn’t mean you need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. By being clever and investing in a few key pieces each season, you can totally change your look while not breaking the bank. And while it is true there may be times when the hot look of the moment just isn’t for you, that needn’t mean you can’t change things up in a more subtle way. For example, take the tropical trend, if the bright and bold prints seem too daunting, no problem, just pick up a gorgeous printed holdall to carry your shopping in and keep the rest of your outfit pared down and simple.
If you are a jeans and jumper kind of person, the thought of changing your look to a more high fashion one may not be appealing in case you are left feeling uncomfortable. Well fear not, you can still wear jeans and a jumper, but why not consider swapping your straight leg blue denims for a pair of eye-popping red or yellow coloured skinny jeans? Or, change your hipsters for a pair of high-waisted jeans?
Injecting more style into your work wardrobe may feel like an impossible task, however don’t be afraid to ditch the black suits for neutral toned structured blazers or more feminine waterfall shaped ones in the palest pastels. Or why not try the androgynous look and simply add a skinny tie to your usual plain white shirt to give it that extra dimension?
You may feel that your personal style or shape will leave you excluded from certain trends; if, for example, you know a mini skirt is not going to be kind to your thighs, then of course it is best to avoid one. However, this is when you can be creative with your accessories and bolder with your colours and prints.
With so many great ideas for fashion and style out there, why not take the plunge and make this season the one where you try something different?
